HALF SEASON MEMBERSHIP
If you join the club after August 1st, a half season discount is available. The half season GGC membership and SAC fees applies to members who join GGC after 1 August and who have not been a member in the preceding year
MEMBER APPROVAL
All membership applications are subject to board approval. (with the exception of day membership.)
CURRENT INSURANCE
All members are required to hold pilot insurance in order to fly club aircraft. Any pilot who is a current member of the soaring association of Canada or is a guest of the policyholder and his member of the national Association affiliated with Federation aeronautic international. Each such pilot shall hold a valid current pilot’s license with all ratings required by law for the flight, endorse thereon.
SIGNED WAIVER
All flying members are required to sign a waiver form once a year and before their first flight of the season, all other members and non-members are required to sign a waiver form once a day and before their first flight on that day, visiting guest pilots need only sign a waiver once for the duration of their stay at GGC.
1. FLYING MEMBER : SOLE USE
Flying membership applies to flying members who make sole use of the facilities or with occasional guests. Members who own or share partnership in private powered aircraft or gliders are required to be flying members.
2. FLYING MEMBER PLUS FAMILY
This type of membership applies to a flying member whose non-flying family are regular users of GGC facilities. The family are not considered to be flying members of the club. Family consist of spouse, child (under the age of 18), Parent(s), or siblings. Any person who wishes to fly as pilot or student must join GGC and SAC as a flying member.
3. YOUTH MEMBER
A youth member is an individual under the age of 21 years on January 1 in the year of membership or, if over the age of 21, but under the age of 25 on January 1 in the year of membership shall be in full-time attendance in an accredited post, secondary learning institution.
4. ASSOCIATE MEMBER
An associate membership applies to persons who want to join GGC to participate in non-flying activities.
5. DAY MEMBERSHIP – GUEST
Day membership is mandatory for anyone who wants to take a passenger flight, except for family of GGC flying family members. Day membership allows full access to club facilities on that day.
6. PAST MEMBER – DAY MEMBERSHIP
Past GGC members may complete up to five dual flights annually at club fees during one or several day memberships.
7. VISITING PILOT MEMBERSHIP
Membership is valid for seven consecutive days starting the day of the first flight, once per season.
8a. MEMBERSHIP PAYMENT
Payment must be made by cash or check before commencement of the members first flight of the season. Fees include GST.
Membership payment made before 8 April, will be credited a tow valued at 2000 foot for that year.
8b. GLIDER RENTAL PAYMENT
Payment for any package will be accepted in two installments, 1/2 paid immediately and 1/2 paid on or before first July of the current year.
Upon payment of the package, the rental fees appropriate to the package will apply. The package rates apply when the flying member flies as P1 or P2 and at all other times the non-package rates apply. These rates cannot be applied to flights retroactively.
Overtime fees apply to all flying packages.
8c. INTEREST
Interest will not be charged until after first July
Interest charges at a monthly percentage rate of 2% will be applied to balances that are outstanding for more than 30 days.
Request for corrections to a members account statement must be received by the 20th of each month to avoid interest charges
8d. NSF
Members will be charged a fee of $35 for NSF checks.
