History of GGC
Founded over 80 years ago, Gatineau Gliding Club is steeped in aviation history, located on a former WWII training airfield. We honor this legacy while fostering a new generation of glider pilots.
I’ve always been passionate about aviation. At the age of 12 during a family vacation in the Alps, I was fascinated by the gliders flying along the mountains. I flew for 10 years in France before moving to Ottawa. After an 18-year break, my wife encouraged me to start flying again. After a few years at another club, I decided to buy my own glider and join GGC. In 2024, I reached over 100 hours of flight time!
