“The blue book” is the definitive pilot gliding manual developed by the ministry of civil aviation of France. It is the French language equivalent of SOAR. The last update in 2024 was its 15th edition.

FAA Glider Flying Handbook
by U.S. Federal Aviation Administration
The U.S. equivalent of Soar, this can provide another perspective and hints for students. Keep in mind that where this book differs from Soar, the Canadian book takes precedence on our practices.

An Explanation of the Art of Flying

This has become a standard reference text for aviators, and focuses on fundamental skills of flying. A great way to get a more intuitive understanding of flying theory and practice.
